Continue reading »]]> The Tigers were 17 seconds away from defeating Dieppe for the first time this year but as it turned out, Campbellton came away with only a single point. On three occasions, the Tigers had the lead but, according to Coach LeBlanc, inconsistent play cost them. What was consisitent however, was the success of the Tigers’ powerplay with three goals on four opportunities. J.J. Allison, Kodi Estey and Chris Caissy all netted extra strength markers. Alex Blais got the first and only five-on-five tally for Campbellton. MacKenzie Kierstead and Andrew Meredith drew two assists apiece while single helpers went to Caissy, Estey and Bram Erickson.

On Wednesday, Feb. 22nd, the Tigers will play the Slammers in Woodstock in what could be seen as a preview of the first round of playoff action for these teams. Campbellton will finish off the regular season with a home game versus Dieppe on Friday and, on Sunday, a trip to the island to tackle the Western Capitals of Summerside.

En avance et ne restant que 17 secondes au match, le Tigre n’a pu contenir l’attaque du Commando et encore une fois cette saison s’est incliné à Dieppe et est retourné à la maison avec un seul point en poche.  Par trois fois les félins étaient en tête mais d’après l’entraineur chef Charles Leblanc, du jeu débridé a couté la victoire aux siens.  Parcontre, le jeu de puissance a été efficace  par trois fois en quatre occasions aux franc tireurs, J.J. Allison, Kodi Estey, et Chris Caissy.  Le seul but à force égale fut celui de Alex Blais.  MacKenzie Kierstead et Andrew Meredith ont eu deux aides chaque et Chris Caissy, Kodi Estey et Bram Erickson une aide chacun.  

Mercredi le 22 février le Tigre affrontera le Slammers de Woodstock dans un match peut-être d’ avant-première aux séries éliminatoires.  Il termine la saison régulière avec un match à domicile contre Dieppe vendredi et l’autre à l’Ile- du Prince- Edouard contre le Western Capitals ce dimanche.  Du bon hockey en perspective.  Bon match. 

Continue reading »]]> The Tigers have clawed their way into a playoff position by downing Miramichi 3-1 Friday night. The victory gives Campbellton a seven point lead over the Timberwolves who have only three games to go. After giving up an early goal, Tiger goalie, Raphael Roy, stopped the rest of the Timberwolves’ 27 attempts and gave the Tiger sharpshooters a chance to do their thing. Campbellton’s goals came off the sticks of J.J. Allison, Chris Caissy and a bit of a birthday present, in the form of an empty-netter for Dylan Desmeules.
Assists went to Frankie Hart, Bram Erickson, Brad Badger and Alex Blais.
Coach LeBlanc was pleased with the Tigers’ effort. He felt that their unified play and hard work resulted in the well deserved victory and shows that the team has a new focus with playoffs coming up shortly.
The next regular season home game for the Tigers will be Friday,Feb.24th against the Dieppe Commandos. The Tigers will be working hard to end the regular schedule on a positive note so come on down to the Memorial Civic Center for some exciting MHL hockey action.

Le Tigre s’est taillé une place dans les séries éliminatoires en battant les Timberwolves de Miramichi 3-1 vendredi soir à Campbellton devant nombreux partisans.  Cette victoire lui donne une avance de sept points sur les loups de Miramichi qui n’ont que 3 matchs à jouer en saison régulière.  Après un but accordé tôt en début de période, le gardien Raphael Roy n’a laissé aucun autres des 27 tirs lui échapper et a permis à ses coéquipiers d’enfiler trois buts et ainsi donner la victoire si importante pour l’équipe du Restigouche.  Les marqueurs furent J.J. Allison, Chris Caissy et pour son anniversaire, Dylan Desmeules s’est fait un cadeau en enfilant un but dans le filet désert.  Les aides sont venus des bâtons de Frankie Hart, Bram Erikson, Brad Badger et Alex Blais.  L’entraineur chef Charles Leblanc était ravi de l’effort des siens.  L’ensemble de jeu ainsi que l’ardeur au travail a permis une belle victoire et amène les joueurs à se concentrer sur la prochaine étape de la saison, soit les séries éliminatoires .   Le Tigre affrontera le Commando de Dieppe vendredi prochain le 24 février et espère bien finir la saison  sur une bonne note.  Les séries débutes en mars, alors chers amateurs, venez nombreux pour voir vos Tigres vous donner le meilleur hockey junior “A” de la ligue de hockey des Maritimes.   GRRR…  Bon match! 

Continue reading »]]> Tiger fans went home disappointed as a chance to strengthen their hold on the final playoff spot was passed up by the home team Wednesday night. Perhaps it was just one of those games when things didn’t seem to work out. The Tigers hit a couple of posts; many of the 28 shots directed at the Dieppe net were no challenge and the few rebounds available were of the bouncing variety and ended up on the wrong sticks. Also, after working hard to set up scoring chances, the Tigers missed many of those opportunities by simply missing the net. However, on the brighter side, the Tigers showed that they were not going to be pushed around. Lead by captain, Brad Badger,(slider photo) Campbellton easily handled the physical challenges presented to them by the Commandos. Also, the two Tiger goals, a hard wrist shot by Chris Caissy(right photo), and a blast from the blue line by Jeremy Doucet(left photo) were pretty ones. Assists went to Francis Bernier, Alex Blais, Andrew Meredith and Kodi Estey.

The next home game for the Tigers will be a huge one this Friday night against Miramichi. This is the biggest game of the season for both teams and could determine the playoff fates of both Campbellton and the Timberwolves. Come on down to the Memorial Civic Center for some exciting MHL hockey action.

Parfois il y a des matchs ou la rondelle ne roule pas pour l’équipe. Les partisans du Tigre sont partis de l’aréna hier soir, un peu déçus. Résultat, 5-2 pour le Commando de Dieppe. Ce fut une chance raté des Tigres d’amasser deux points et se garantir une place dans les séries. Des rondelles bondissantes, des tirs sur les poteaux de buts, et très peu des 28 tirs dirigés sur le gardien adverse étant menaçants ou précis. Toutefois, au chapitre de la robustesse le capitaine Brad Badger (photo titre) et les siens ne s’en ont pas laissé imposer, mais cela ne fait pas allumer la lumière rouge. Les deux beaux buts du Tigres sont venus de la palette de Chris Caissy (photo de droite) un lancé du poignet et Jeremy Doucet (photo de gauche) a trompé la vigilance du gardien adverse avec un boulet de la ligne bleu. Les aides sont venus de Francis Bernier, Alex Blais, Andrew Meredith et de Kodi Estey.

Le prochain match ce vendredi soir contre l’équipe de dernière position, le Timberwolves de Miramichi sera des plus importants pour les deux équipes car une position dans les séries sera en jeu. Un GROS, GROS match en perspective. Soyez donc de la partie ce vendredi soir au Centre Civique de Campbellton. Vos Tigres vous y attendent. Bon match!

Continue reading »]]> The Tigers are showing more and more that they are gearing up for the playoffs. With only a few games left to go in the regular season and the last playoff position at stake, Campbellton is showing no signs of quitting. Saturday night in New Glasgow, each time they fell behind the Weeks Crushers, Campbellton responded with a goal of their own to force extra time and a shootout. Although they had to head home with only a single point for their effort, the Tigers have to be content knowing that they have moved closer to ensuring a playoff position. With Miramichi’s loss in Summerside, the Tigers have upped their lead on the Timberwolves to five points. Scoring for Campbellton were Chris Caissy(left photo), Bram Erickson(slider photo) and Alex Blais(right photo) with assists going to Caissy, Blais, Frankie Hart and Francis Bernier. In the shootout, of the four Tiger participants, only Hart was able to flash the light.  Raphael Roy played a strong game in the Tigers’ net, stopping 37 of 40 shots.

Head coach Charles LeBlanc was pleased with the team’s effort. “The guys played a well disciplined road game. We fell behind three times but every time they showed character and stuck to the game plan.”

This week, Campbellton has two home games. On Wednesday, Feb. 15th the Tigers will play the Dieppe Commandos in a rescheduled game and on Friday, they host the Miramichi Timberwolves. Come on down to the Memorial Civic Center  to cheer on the home team.

 Avec seulement quelques matchs à faire en saison régulière et qu’une place de libre pour faire les séries éliminatoires, l’équipe de Campbellton ne montre pas de signe d’abandon mais plutôt  qu’elle se prépare à jouer du hockey de série.  Samedi soir à New Glasgow contre le Weeks Crushers, c’est par trois fois que les Restigoucheois sont revenus de l’arrière pour jouer en surtemps et malheureusement perdre par tirs de barrage.  C’est quand même un point très important pour le Tigre car il a maintenant 5 points d’avance sur les Timberwolves de Miramichi et la dernière place pour jouer en séries.  Ces derniers ayant perdu samedi à Summerside.  Les buteurs du Tigre étaient Chris Caissy (photo de gauche), Brian Erickson (photo titre) et Alex Blais (photo de droite).  Les passes sont venues de Caissy, Blais, Frankie Hart et Francis Bernier.  Des quatre joueurs participants aux tirs de barrage, seulement Frankie Hart a touché le fond du filet.  Le gardien de but Raphael Roy a été superbe devant le filet du Tigre et a fait 37 arrêts sur 40 lancés.  

L’entraîneur chef Charles Leblanc s’est dit satisfait de la discipline et de l’effort des siens.  ”Nous sommes revenus de l’arrière par  trois fois et avons mis en pratique notre système de jeu.”

Le Tigre  jouera deux matchs au Centre Civique  cette semaine: ce mercredi contre le Commando de Dieppe et vendredi contre le fameux Timberwolves de Miramichi.  Des matchs si importants pour une place dans les séries.  C’est donc un rendez-vous pour voir du hockey à son meilleur à Campbellton cette semaine.  Bon match!

Continue reading »]]> The Tigers paid dearly for their trips to the penalty box Wednesday night as Summerside scored twice on the powerplay and handed the Tigers their first loss in three games. Campbellton was down 3-1 after the first but once again the Tigers showed that the second period is theirs when, within a 33 second span, they roared back to even the score at 3-3. Summerside grabbed the lead in the third minute of a double minor to the Tigers and then sealed the win late in the final frame with an empty net goal. Tiger fans were enthused by the play of the latest addition to the roster, James Ryerse, (slider photo) who in his first game, notched Campbellton’s first two goals.  The other Tiger goal was scored by Dylan Desmeules, (right photo) who returned to the lineup tonight after being on the injured list since mid-January. Making it onto the scoresheet for assists were Kodi Estey, Jeremy Doucet, MacKenzie Kierstead, Chris Caissy, J.J. Allison and Stephen Groom.

Of great concern to the Tigers and their fans is the condition of goalie, Julien Daigle, (left photo) who was helped off the ice after a collision immediately following the scoring of Summerside’s third goal. Daigle had performed brilliantly in his last two games stopping 60 of 63 shots in wins over Miramichi. Raphael Roy took over in the Tigers’ net and allowed only one powerplay goal on 23 shots.

The next game for the Tigers is this Saturday when they play the Weeks Crushers on the road. Their next home game is Wednesday, Feb. 15th when the Dieppe Commandos come to town for a rescheduled contest. Although there is no game here this Friday night, Tiger fans might want to keep tabs on the Miramichi vs Amherst game that evening.

L’indiscipline a couté très cher aux Tigres hier soir.  L’ adversaire, le Western Capitals  de Summersides a marqué deux fois en avantage numérique et a stoppé à deux le nombre de victoires du or et noire en leur infligeant une défaite de 5 -3.   Le pointage était de 3 -1 en début de la deuxième période lorsque le Tigre a amorcé un remonté de deux buts en 33 secondes pour égaliser le score.  C’est en début de la dernière période, sur une pénalité double mineur  aux Tigres que l’adversaire a pris l’avance et en fin de match qu’il a scellé le sort du Tigre avec un but dans un filet désert.  Par-contre,  le nouveau joueur des Tigres, James Ryerse (photo titre) a enthousiasmé la foule en marquant les deux premier buts des siens à son premier match.  De retour d’une blessure , Dylan Desmeules, (photo de droite) fut l’autre marqueur de l’équipe local.   Les aides ont été accordé  à Kodi Estey, Jeremy Doucet, MacKenzie Kierstead, Chris Caissy, J.J. Allison et Stephen Groom.

Le cerbère des Tigres, Julien Daigle , (photo de gauche) a dut quitter le match de peine et misère après avoir été rudoyé dans une  collision après le troisième but de l’adversaire.  Il avait été brillant à ses deux derniers matchs en stoppant 60 des 63 lancés de l’adversaire, Miramichi.  Son remplaçant  Raphael Roy  n’a permis qu’un but en avantage numérique sur 23 lancés contre lui. 

Le prochain affrontement des Tigres aura lieu ce samedi à New Glasgow dans le conté de Pictou N.-E. contre le Weeks Crushers.  C’est mercredi le 15 février qu’aura lieu au Centre Civique  le match qui avait été annulé contre le Commando de Dieppe.   Il n’y a pas de match ce  vendredi, mais les amateurs voudront garder un oeil sur le match impliquant Miramichi et Amherst pour la course aux séries.   Bon Match.

Continue reading »]]> Tigers’ management have announced the rescheduling of two games recently postponed due to weather. On Wednesday, Feb. 15th, the Dieppe Commandos will be in town  for a 7:30 tilt with the Tigers. The following Wednesday, Feb. 22nd, Campbellton will play in Woodstock, again at 7:30. This means that The Tigers will have to play six games in twelve days with four of those in the last week of the regular season. This development might lead to an exciting finish because three of the games are against Dieppe and there is still a chance that the Tigers could challenge them for third place in the Meek division.

Head coach, Charlie LeBlanc likes what he has seen in recent games. In a recent statement he stated, “I’m really happy with my players’ attitude as of late, their mindset and focus are at a premium, ready for the playoffs.”

L’organisation des Tigres annonce les dates de reprise des matchs annulés en raison de tempête.   Ce sera mercredi le 18 février que le Commando de Dieppe sera en ville pour jouer un match à 19h30 et le mercredi suivant notre équipe se rendra à Woodstock pour jouer contre les Slammers à la même heure.  Ceci veut donc dire que les Tigres joueront six matchs en douze jours dont quatre dans la dernière semaine de la saison régulière.  Fait à noter, trois matchs de fin de saison mettront au prise le Commando de Dieppe et  les Tigres de Campbellton.  Avec quelques victoires, ceux-ci pourraient aspirer à une troisième place dans la division Meek.  

L’entraineur chef, Charles Leblanc est content des résultats des derniers matchs et aime la façon que joue son équipe dernièrement.  Il a dit que ses joueurs ont une bonne attitude, la concentration et l’esprit d’équipe sont à leur meilleur.  Cela promet pour les séries.

Eight Tiger players earned mention on the scoresheet in an lead-stretching 4-1 win over Miramichi Friday evening. With his 5th and 6th goals of the season, plus a helper, Kodi Estey (slider photo) gave the Tigers the offensive punch they were looking for. The other Campbellton goals were netted by Alex Blais,(left photo inside) who got the scoring started in the first minute of the second period, and by Chris Caissy (right photo). With a pretty goal and an assist as well, Caissy did not disappoint Tiger fans who were glad to see him back off the injured list. Also contributing to Tiger markers were MacKenzie Kierstead with two, Francis Bernier, J.J.Allison, Kilabuc Qupee and Andrew Meredith.

The Tiger victory has moved them five points ahead of the struggling Timberwolves who have won only one of their last ten games,. The Tigers have responded much better during the same stretch with five wins, plus an overtime loss and one shoot-out loss, for a total of twelve points.

Unless the league officials have rescheduled either of Campbellton’s postponed games for the upcoming days, the Tigers will have a bit of a rest and time to prepare for their next game on Wednesday, Feb. 8th. At that time, the Western Capitals from Summerside will challenge the home team here at the Civic Center.  With possibly only three regular season home games left, don’t miss the chance to see some exciting hockey and to cheer on the Tigers.

 Ce fut une brillante victoire de 4 à 1 contre Miramichi vendredi.  Huit joueurs ont accumulé nombre de points.  Kodi Ester (photo titre) a marqué son cinquième et sixième but de la saison et une passe en  donnant le ton au match.  Les autres marqueurs ont été Alex Blais, (photo de gauche) le premier but de la rencontre en début de la seconde période et de Chris Caissy (photo de droite).  Ce dernier a célébré son retour au jeu avec un magnifique but et une passe.  Deux aides ont aussi été accordé à Mackenzie Kierstead.  Autres mentions d’aide ont été donné à Francis Bernier, J.J. Allison, Kiladuc Qupee et Andrew Meredith.

Cette victoire donne une avance de cinq points aux Tigres sur les Timberwolves qui n’ont gagnés qu’un match à leurs dernières dix sorties.   Pendant ce temps, les Tigres ont eu cinq victoires, une défaite en surtemps et une autre  défaite en tirs de barrage pour un total de douze points.  

À moins d’un changement à l’horaire, le Tigre jouera son prochain match mercredi prochain le 8 février au Centre Civique de Campbellton contre le Western Capitals de Summerside.  Il reste très peu de matchs à jouer à domicile. Ce sont donc vos dernières chances pour voir du bon hockey de fin de saison.  Venez appuyer votre équipe, les Tigres de Campbellton en route pour les séries éliminatoires.

Continue reading »]]> The Campbellton Tigers were able to add to their points lead over Miramichi by solidly defeating the Timberwolves 5-2 in their own rink Sunday afternoon. The Tigers got goals from Bram Erikson and Kodi Estey and held that lead to the end of the first period. Assists went to Oleg Hayduk, Frankie Hart, Rod Archer and MacKenzie Kierstead. In the second frame, Stephen Groom (right photo) increased the Tiger lead to 3 with help from J.J. Allison (slider photo) and Kilabuc Qupee. Miramichi got on the scoreboard halfway through the period but that and a late marker in the third was all the Timberwolves could muster. The Tigers took control of the game with scores by Allison and Alex Blais which stretched the lead to 4. Credited with assists were Estey (left photo), Brad Badger and Allison, with his third point of the game. Julien Daigle stopped 33 shots to earn the victory. All three star selections went to Tiger players – Allison (1st); Estey (2nd); Groom(3rd).

Head coach Charles LeBlanc had some positive things to say about the Tigers’ play Sunday. ” It was a good effort from everybody, from the goalie out. It was a huge game with Miramichi being only 1 point behind. The guys came ready to work for 60 minutes, and were rewarded with a big win.”

Campbellton plays two games this week. On Wednesday, the Tigers journey to Woodstock and then, on Friday, the Timberwolves are here in what should be another exciting leg in the playoff race. Come on down to the Civic Center, Friday, Feb. 3rd at 8:oo pm and cheer on the home team

Ce fut une victoire des plus mérités dimanche après-midi lorsque les Tigres de Campbellton ont vaincu le Timberwolf de Miramichi 5 à 2 à Miramichi et par le fait même ont gardé une avance de trois points sur ces derniers.  En première période les marqueurs des Tigres furent Bram Erikson et Kodi Estey sur des aides de Oleg Hayduk, Frankie Hart, Rob Archer et MacKenzie Kierstead.  En seconde période Stephen Groom (photo en bas) donna l’avance de trois buts aux Tigres sur une mention d’aide de J.J. Allison, (photo titre) et de Kiladuk Qupee.  Ce n’est qu’au mi- temps de la période médiane que Miramichi a compté et tard en troisième période, mais ce fut trop peu et trop tard.  Les Tigres ont contrôlé le match du début à la fin avec des contributions de J.J. Allison et Alex Blais au pointage final, sur des aides de Kodi Estey (photo à gauche), Brad Badger et encore J.J. Allison avec son troisième point du match.  Le gardien de but Julien Daigle a fait 33 arrêts pour mériter la victoire.  Les trois étoiles du match furent en ordre: J.J. Allison, Kody Estey et Stephen Groom.

L’entraîneur chef Charles Leblanc a dit des siens, qu’ils ont offert un effort collectif.  Les Timberwolves n’étant qu’a un point en arrière de nous au classement, les gars sont venus prêt pour travailler trois périodes et furent récompensés par une victoire importante.  

Les Tigres joueront deux matchs cette semaine. Ce mercredi ils se rendront à Woodstock pour affronter les Slammers  et vendredi  ils rencontreront encore les Timberwolves de Miramichi pour un match  important pour une position dans les séries.  

C’est donc un rendez-vous ce vendredi soir 20h au Centre Civique de Campbellton,  Bon match.
